Stop being the office slob

A recent survey by Adecco asked people what they thought of cleanliness at work. It turns out that how you keep your desk influences what other people think of you. Adecco found that:

— 57 percent of Americans have judged coworkers on how clean or dirty they keep their work spaces

— 42 percent of Americans have judged a coworker more negatively if his workspace is dirty

  1. It is unfortunate but people do judge a book by its cover and it is important to remember that in the workplace. The workplace can be hesitant on giving more responsibility to someone who can’t find their keyboard.

  2. You shouldn’t want to deal with anyone who makes superficial judgments. If that is the case, find a different job, even if it means less money. You will be happier once you have found good people to spend your time with.
