Thanks so much for the tips, Suzanne!
Your blog post has come at a rather helpful time – our team has just had a new manager appointed (one who has no prior management experience). Hopefully with these points in mind, we can start to turn things around in our team. 🙂
Items four and five are especially relevant if your boss has actually been trained by staff not to trust them because they didn’t complete tasks well and in a timely manner. One boss I knew adapted to that with a special brand of nagging that drove me bonkers til I flat out explained that I had a system and would she please let me work according to that system before nagging as I would get it done faster?
Then I got it done faster. And peace reigned in all the officedom. She’d forget once in a while and I’d remind her and we’d both get on with our lives.
